Dear prospective graduate students,

Our graduate programs are challenging programs that put particular emphasis on solid operations research and systems thinking and offer specialization in several diverse fields such as optimization, stochastic systems, statistical methods, system dynamics, intelligent manufacturing, production-distribution chains, energy and socio-economic systems, ergonomics, financial engineering, and healthcare operations. The Department pursues high impact research in these areas with its 19 distinguished faculty members and state-of-the-art facilities. Our spectacular students contribute to the in-class discussions and the research output, benefit from close contact with the mentors and peer support, and they enjoy exciting scholarly dialogues. Our graduates go on to pursue academic or professional careers at leading institutions all over the world.

We require that all applicants must

  • have a grade point average of at least 2.50/4.00 for the M.Sc. program and 3.00/4.00 for the Ph.D. program,
  • have at least 160 GRE® Quantitative points (or 80 ALES-quantitative points in the National Graduate Education Test),
  • have a proof  for their English proficiency (i.e., minimum 79 TOEFL iBT® points and at least 22 TWE points),
  • and submit two letters of reference.

After a pre-evaluation of applications, which consists of a ranking of candidates based on a composite score of their GPA, ALES/GRE score, and the minimum score of their major program at the University Entrance exams, three groups are formed by the Department Council:

  1. First tier is accepted to the program
  2. Second tier is invited for an interview (please see the University Admissions page below for the date)
  3. Third tier is rejected

Pre-evaluation results are e-mailed to the candidates two days before the interview date and lists are posted by the Institute for Graduate Studies in Sciences and Engineering.

All applicants should meet the general application requirements of the University. Please see the requirements for admission to graduate programs at the link below by clicking first on “Institute for Graduate Studies in Sciences and Engineering” then on “Industrial Engineering”. The University offers a dormitory for graduate students.
