"The Internship Rules for IE Students" is available here (In Turkish)
"The Timetable of Internship Activities" is available here.
"Student Evaluation Letter" is available here (In Turkish)
"Internship Insurance Form" is available here (In Turkish)
Guidelines for Production, IT and General IE Internship can be obtained from here.
IMPORTANT: Due to new law on the requirement of interns being insured, all students that will make internship should fill the "internship insurance form", which is available in the department secretariat or can be obtained from web site. Students should leave this form to department secretariat to be signed by the internship advisor. After that, the form will be approved by University Accounting Office (Hesap İşleri Şube Müdürlüğü). You can take the approved form from department secretariat afterwards and submit to the company. If you are aware of that the company has an insurance for interns please indicate that on the form.
After the internship is completed, the student is also responsible to take a signed document (different than Trainee Evaluation Form) from the company that indicates the student completed his/her intern during the dates stated in the internship insurance form and leave this form to by University Accounting Office (Hesap İşleri Şube Müdürlüğü). Students also should leave a copy of this document to department secretariat.
:: All IE students must complete at least 70 work-days of internship during the 4-year undergraduate period.
:: Internships may be done during the summer or the semester break. Internships
done during the semesters are not accepted. Students that take course(s) on the
summer school must pay attention to this point. Of the total 70 days of internship,
15 must be done in an IT firm, and 15 must be done in a production firm. Finance,
marketing, etc. will be accepted as a "general internship".
:: During the IT training, the student may deal with network setup and/or
management, web design, programming, etc.
:: IE students are encouraged to fulfill their summer internship in
governmental agencies. IE students are also encouraged to spend a part
of their internship period (counted towards their "general internship")
at a non-governmental organization (NGO). Typical examples (not an
exhaustive list) of NGO's that would be suitable for an IE internship
are Kızılay, KALDER, Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı. Students who
wish to do internship at an NGO are required to get verbal permission
from the department's internship coordinator. Please check "Internship
Rules" document for details
:: Internship reports must be handed in within 1 month after the semester
is open.
:: The "Trainee Evaluation Form" (in a sealed envelope) and the "Student Evaluation Letter" (the student's comment on the firm) must also be attached to the
Internship Report while submitting to the Faculty.
:: The Report need not to be signed by the person
in charge of the internship.
:: It would be very convenient while contacting you
if you attach your e-mail address when you submit your reports. You will be informed
by any problems with your report.
:: Please look at your internship status on the list. If there is any note included in your record, except "COMPLETED", contact your assistant Kamer Sözer as soon as possible.
