INTRODUCTION

The fifteenth International System Dynamics Conference was held on August 19-22 1997, in Istanbul, Turkey. It was hosted by Bogazici University, Department of Industrial Engineering. It was supported by System Dynamics Society and several other private and state organizations. The conference site consisted of two places: Bogazici University and the new Kabatas Culture Center in Istanbul. The conference attracted over 200 experts from around the world, specializing in system dynamics, systems thinking and other systemic methodologies.
