About SESDYN Research Group

SESDYN research group has been in existence since 1994 and the laboratory was founded in 2000. The main goal of SESDYN studies is to model, analyze and improve strategic socio-economic problems from a dynamic systems perspective. Industrial, socio-economic, managerial, medical, ecological, environmental problems of national or universal nature are modeled and analyzed using systems thinking and computer simulation.


SESDYN group is in contact with the International System Dynamics Society and other systems institutions. The Lab director Yaman Barlas was a Past President of the System Dynamics Society. The SESDYN group organized The International System Dynamics Conference in İstanbul.


The group has been working on numerous research projects with undergraduate and graduate participation, some projects being funded by various institutions. Several student members continue to win international research awards.
